The main focus of the group is people enjoying a social together, who all enjoy running, walking and the countryside that is around the local area.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The run always starts at a pub and finishes at the pub where we have food which is sometime free or a very low price. We have a drink together which is great for people making new friends in the local area.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/thumbnail_image2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10713\" width=\"441\" height=\"331\" srcset=\"https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/thumbnail_image2.jpg 960w, https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/thumbnail_image2-300x226.jpg 300w, https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/thumbnail_image2-768x578.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 441px) 100vw, 441px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>All types of running abilities are welcome and all ages.\u00a0It\u2019s just a great way to bring the local community together and meet new friends.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are normally 3 different runs a hard for the runners a medium run for the joggers and a easy route for the walkers.\u00a0The run is normally 5 to 6 miles of mainly trail running the jog is about 4 miles and the walk is about 3 miles.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We meet every Thursday at 7pm for a selected pub and it will last for about an hour.\u00a0The routes can be fun as you have to find the trail yourself a by use of markers and the markers can take you down false trails just until you find the correct way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/thumbnail_image1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10715\" width=\"438\" height=\"329\" srcset=\"https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/thumbnail_image1-1.jpg 959w, https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/thumbnail_image1-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/thumbnail_image1-1-768x577.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 438px) 100vw, 438px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It keeps the mind occupied which distracts you from feeling tired and just makes it more fun running into the unknown.\u00a0Then it\u2019s back to the pub for a social.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you would like help to set up a group have a look at our handy guide or get in touch with our Participation Officers via our email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/irun.wales\/support\/run-leader-resources\/\" target=\"_blank\">Run Leader Resources &#8211; Run Wales (irun.wales<\/a>)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week we welcome our newest group to Run Wales, Porthcawl Harriers.
