Launching from Ben Nevis on June 6th, this spectacular relay will cover an impressive 2,436 km, journeying through 50 cities and towns before reaching its grand finale at Big Ben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>The relay comprises 210 stages and includes over 80 visits to climate and nature projects, sporting bodies and venues, schools, events, and iconic locations. This is set to be the most remarkable Climate Relay yet, celebrating the great climate work being done across the country. Participants will have the chance to engage in these exciting activities while promoting a crucial cause.<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Personal Story: Simon\u2019s Commitment to Change<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"804\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/Simon-804x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17083\" srcset=\"https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/Simon-804x1024.jpg 804w, https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/Simon-236x300.jpg 236w, https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/Simon-768x978.jpg 768w, https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/Simon.jpg 942w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 804px) 100vw, 804px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>Simon, a member of the Run Wales virtual running club, <a href=\"https:\/\/irun.wales\/clwb-run-wales\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/irun.wales\/clwb-run-wales\/\">Clwb Run Wales<\/a>, has pledged to carry the baton on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/running-out-of-time.com\/route\/138\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/running-out-of-time.com\/route\/138\" target=\"_blank\">Stage 138<\/a> from St. Fagans National Museum of History&nbsp;to&nbsp;The Senedd.  This stage of just under 11kms is scheduled to take place between 2pm and 3:15pm on Wednesday 26th June, and it would be amazing to see Simon joined by social runners from across the region, all raising awareness about Climate Change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simon shared his motivation for joining the relay: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">\u201cI joined the Green Runners earlier this year because I believe we should all do what we can to reduce our impact on the planet. My decision was triggered after completing a half marathon event last year, where I saw thousands of half-used and discarded plastic water bottles. I now carry my own water and folding cup for races. The hardest thing is turning down that bottle of cold water at the end of a race!&#8221; <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Get Involved!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We encourage all members of the Run Wales community to join this incredible journey.
