We need you to submit your nominations and tell us why your nominees are winners in your eyes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can nominate for one or both of this year\u2019s award categories, which are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Run Wales Group of the Year<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Run Wales Run Leader\/Coach of the Year<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>T<\/strong>he <strong>Welsh Athletics and Run Wales Annual Awards Evening<\/strong> is open to everyone, and is a wonderful opportunity to don your glad-rags and party with your fellow runners! Join us at The Parkgate Hotel on 1st November for an unforgettable night of celebration as we honour the very best in our running community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2>Make your nominations now!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re inviting YOU to put forward your inspirational leader or coach and running group. Do you create a friendly and welcoming environment that\u2019s both fun and social? Maybe your group is a hub of encouragement, offering multiple opportunities for different types of running activities, parkrun involvement, charity work, and community or environmental initiatives. If so, your group deserves recognition, so tell us all about it! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong><em><br>Run Wales Group of the Year<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>Winner&nbsp;2024<\/em><\/strong>:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/irun.wales\/groups\/therunningsocial\">The Running Social<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/irun.wales\/groups\/therunningsocial\">The Running Social<\/a>&nbsp;in Caerleon was established in February 2024 but, in less that a year, had inspired more than 100 people to join them every Monday and Wednesday for a social run and to get out and move. The initiative aims to engage everyone, from beginners to seasoned runners, ensuring that all participants feel included and valued.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\"><p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=476&#038;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FIRunWales%2Fvideos%2F1057928732001660%2F&#038;show_text=false&#038;width=267&#038;t=0\" width=\"267\" height=\"476\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowFullScreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3>Run Wales Run Leader\/Coach of the Year Award:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>Does your group have a qualified leader (LiRF) or coach (CiRF) who goes above and beyond to make their sessions inclusive and equitable? Are they known for their friendliness, dedication, and the fun atmosphere they create? Perhaps they inspire others through their commitment, sharing skills and knowledge, and supporting various opportunities, including parkrun and charity events. A leader who supports the community and local environment should be celebrated for their exceptional contribution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong><em>Run Wales Leader of the Year<\/em>&nbsp;<em>2024<\/em><\/strong>: Jon Hussey,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/irun.wales\/groups\/rhoose-runners\">Rhoose Runners<\/a> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Jon&nbsp;received numerous nominations from members of Rhoose Runners, telling us about his passion and enthusiasm for all things running.&nbsp; In the words of one of his nominators \u2013 \u201cWhether rain or shine,&nbsp;Jon\u2019s energy and excitement for every run are palpable and contagious.
