The event recently celebrated it\u2019s 5-year anniversary on 7<sup>th<\/sup> April \u2013 it\u2019s 260<sup>th<\/sup> event since being formed back in April 2013. Over 200 runners from 22 different clubs took part in the 5-year anniversary celebration, of whom 17 were first time parkrunners and 26 recorded new personal bests.<\/p>\n<p>Several dedicated volunteers braved the horrible weather conditions for last weekend\u2019s parkrun, notably James Marks, Tony Kavanagh, Keith Treharne and volunteer coordinator Tony Phillips who have all completed more than 200 volunteer sessions at Porthcawl. In addition, Ken Milligan, Maria Lalic, Sarah Graham, Jeff Thomas, Steve Brace, Jacqueline Brace, Kevin Walford and Derek Crowder have all completed more than 100 sessions as volunteers for the event. Without the hard work and commitment of the many parkrun volunteers, the event would simply be unable to operate.<\/p>\n<p>Last weekend, Bob Bamsey and Stephanie Murphy completed their 100<sup>th<\/sup> Porthcawl parkruns, and another 6 runners have also completed more than 200 parkruns at Porthcawl, including Nigel Thomas, Jackie Lewis, Michael Davies, Dave H Evans, Keith Powell and Libby Lavis.<\/p>\n<p>The Porthcawl parkrun course is a flat and fast one, that runs along the tarmac paths on the seafront in Porthcawl.
