{"id":4797,"date":"2018-09-06T11:20:38","date_gmt":"2018-09-06T11:20:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/irun.wales\/?p=4797\/"},"modified":"2018-09-06T11:20:38","modified_gmt":"2018-09-06T11:20:38","slug":"parkrun-of-the-week-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irun.wales\/cy\/news\/parkrun-of-the-week-21\/","title":{"rendered":"parkrun of the week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><u>Prestatyn Prom Junior parkrun <\/u><\/p>\n<p>This week\u2019s parkrun of the week is the Prestatyn Prom Junior parkrun, which takes place at 9a.m every Sunday morning at Nova Centre, Prestatyn. The Prestatyn Prom Junior parkrun made it\u2019s debut last weekend as 26 young and enthusiastic junior parkrunners embarked on the 2km out-and-back route along Prestatyn promenade.<\/p>\n<p>The junior parkrun is an event for children aged 4-14 years old and consists of a 2k running route. The junior parkrun offers many different cool and stylish wristbands to junior parkrunners for achieving milestone numbers of junior parkruns. After completing 11 junior parkruns, children are awarded a blue half marathon wristband, and if they reach the milestone of 21 junior parkruns, then they are awarded with a green marathon wristband. There\u2019s even an orange wristband available for children who complete 50 junior parkruns!<\/p>\n<p>Along with getting children outside and active on a Sunday morning, the junior parkrun offers parents, siblings and family members a chance to come together and encourage children around the 2k route as well as offering an opportunity to socialise and chat about the senior parkrun events that they have often completed the day before!<\/p>\n<p>The Prestatyn Prom Junior parkrun is an out-and-back course from Offa\u2019s Dyke sculpture to the life ring along the prom and back.
