Each category was hotly contested with 280 nominations received in total.<\/p>\n<h2>Run Wales awards &#8211; kindly sponsored by our friends at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.runr.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">runr<\/a>:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5>Group of the Year (200 nominations across 50 groups) winners: <a href=\"https:\/\/irun.wales\/groups\/cowbridge-moovers\/\">Cowbridge Moovers<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cowbridge Moovers is a &#8220;free&#8221; social (fun) running club.\u00a0 Within 1 year it&#8217;s brought together a large number of people from smaller villages within the Vale of Glamorgan who would not normally run due to the isolated location where they live.\u00a0 It\u2019s &#8216;chatty running&#8217; approach giving social benefits in addition to health benefits, the group are great friends meeting 3-4 times a week for running and socially on top of this. Described as\u00a0\u201cThe Most supportive and friendliest group of people\u201d &#8211;\u00a0Cowbridge Moovers has grown exponentially and regularly has up 50 Moovers running, walking or jogging- and always chatting, Great teamwork and hard work have really paid off as the club continues to grow. This is a group that is for all ages and abilities, it\u2019s super welcoming and totally inclusive &#8211;\u00a0\u201cThe improvement in everyone&#8217;s ability, outlook and motivation has been heartwarming and amazing to see\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5>Leader of the Year (60 individuals nominated) winner: David Sinclair<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6367 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/Dave-Sinclair-274x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/Dave-Sinclair-274x300.jpg 274w, https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/Dave-Sinclair-768x840.jpg 768w, https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/Dave-Sinclair-936x1024.jpg 936w, https:\/\/irun.wales\/app\/uploads\/Dave-Sinclair.jpg 1872w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 274px) 100vw, 274px\" \/>Dave was nominated by his club &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/irun.wales\/groups\/moti-albany-road-run-club\/\">Moti Cardiff<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dave selflessly gives up him time to several training sessions each week for both Moti Cardiff and CDF runners. So many people with such varied backgrounds, abilities and experience all come along because we thoroughly enjoy our evening challenges &#8211; and our socials afterwards. And this is all entirely down to Dave and his tireless positivity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe&#8217;s personally made me feel extremely at ease when I was nervous about coming to my first club session due to my slow speed. \u201c<\/p>\n<p>Dave was quick to get on social media as always! &#8211; &#8220;<em>Thank you to\u00a0<a class=\"link-complex\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RunWales\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener user\" data-user-name=\"RunWales\">@<span class=\"link-complex-target\">RunWales<\/span><\/a>\u00a0&amp;\u00a0<a class=\"link-complex\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WelshAthletics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener user\" data-user-name=\"WelshAthletics\">@<span class=\"link-complex-target\">WelshAthletics<\/span><\/a>\u00a0for awarding me Group Leader of the Year 2019\u00a0<img class=\"emoji\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/abs.twimg.com\/emoji\/v2\/72x72\/1f60d.png\" alt=\"&#x1f60d;\" \/>\u00a0I\u2019m hugely honoured &amp; grateful to my club\u00a0<a class=\"link-complex\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MotiCardiff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener user\" data-user-name=\"MotiCardiff\">@<span class=\"link-complex-target\">MotiCardiff<\/span><\/a>\u00a0who I share this award with, to\u00a0<a class=\"link-complex\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CDFRunners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener user\" data-user-name=\"CDFRunners\">@<span class=\"link-complex-target\">CDFRunners<\/span><\/a>\u00a0&amp; too many people to mention. You know who you are\u00a0<img class=\"emoji\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/abs.twimg.com\/emoji\/v2\/72x72\/2764.png\" alt=\"&#x2764;&#xfe0f;\" \/>\u00a0Congrats 2 all nominees &amp; winners.&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h5>Inspiration Award (20 nominations) winner: Geraldine Tucker (<a href=\"https:\/\/irun.wales\/groups\/cowbridge-moovers\/\">Cowbridge Moovers<\/a>)<\/h5>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Geraldine is one of the Run Leaders for the newly formed Cowbridge Moovers. She has done so much for the group including organising all the amazing cow print kit. However, she has had a tough few months with a fractured ankle and recently diagnosed with breast cancer. However, her positive and support to the group members and other Run Leaders has continued. She has still come to sessions on her crutches or in a wheelchair and latterly as a tail walker. Even when she hasn\u2019t been able to train she comes along as support or to take the warm-up and cool down. She also volunteers at park run when she can\u2019t run it.
