{"id":7393,"date":"2020-05-22T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-22T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/irun.wales\/?p=7393"},"modified":"2020-05-21T16:39:34","modified_gmt":"2020-05-21T16:39:34","slug":"volunteers-week-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/irun.wales\/cy\/news\/volunteers-week-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Volunteers week 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Run Wales is taking part in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/volunteersweek.org\/\">Volunteers Week<\/a><\/strong> (June 1 \u2013 7) to thank and celebrate our brilliant volunteers and the positive impact they make to our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volunteers\u2019&nbsp;Week&nbsp;is&nbsp;a UK wide and annual festival of volunteering, established in 1984, that recognises the contribution volunteers make to our communities every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, recognition&nbsp;of our nation\u2019s volunteers&nbsp;is more important than ever. It is&nbsp;hoped&nbsp;that all individuals, across all sectors of Wales will unite to&nbsp;share messages to thank volunteers and celebrate the power of volunteering to bring communities together and to be there&nbsp;when needed.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Volunteers Week campaign will predominantly take place online this year. We would love to showcase as many people as possible from across the entire running community, filling our social media channels and news feed with your thanks. In order to do this we are asking for your nominations;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Who has inspired you (as well as more recently during the COVID-19 lockdown period!)?<\/li><li>Who are the real unsung heroes?<\/li><li>Without whom could your group not operate?<\/li><li>Who do you know who has kept your group engaged with online content and engagement?<\/li><li>During this time, do you know a key worker linked to the sport that we can say a special thank you to?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Nominate <a href=\"http:\/\/irun.wales\/volunteers-week-2020\">HERE<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your thank you doesn\u2019t need to be long. Just a few sentences would be a huge boost for our volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If possible, we\u2019d love for you to share your thanks via your own social media channels, such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram between June 1st and 7<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp; too. We are using the hashtag <strong>#VolunteersWeek.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also encourage our community to join the <strong>#ClapforVolunteers<\/strong>&nbsp;(alongside the #ClapforCarers)&nbsp;event&nbsp;at 8pm&nbsp;on Thursday 4th June&nbsp;as a nationwide expression of thanks for volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We completely appreciate you are very busy.
