Since lockdown, our homes have become our everything. They are now our offices, our schools, our nights in and our nights out. But, our front door is the gateway to something beyond those four walls. The start line for fresh air, exercise, and thinking time.
And the scale in which people in Wales have taken to stepping outside their front doors to gain the benefits is huge. Over 350,000 people took themselves outside of their four walls to run during the 2020 lockdown. And we’re asking you to be part of that movement.
Run it, walk it, or jog it – just be a part of it.
Whether you’re a first-time jogger or a race finisher, you can get involved. Jump off your sofa, push yourself through your front door, and discover the mental and physical benefits of running. You can run for five minutes, or five miles. Whatever the weather, whatever your circumstances, whatever your pace, you’ve got this.
And the best part? You won’t be pounding those pavements alone; there are hundreds of running clubs, groups, and challenges taking part right now across Wales, offering you support not just now, but all year round.
Connect with our growing community of runners by sharing pictures and videos of you leaving your front door using #FromMyDoor.
Let’s get Wales moving!
St. David’s Day Celebrations
We might not have been able to celebrate St. David’s Day in the way we normally would. But as a nation, we could still do something together, even if we we’re physically apart.
On St. David’s Day, we got Wales moving and discovering the Wales beyond our front doors. Businesses, schools and individuals joined us to do a #FromMyDoor run on 1st March and shared why Wales is such a fantastic place to live, work and study.
