Run Wales

During lockdown, our homes became our everything. They were our offices, our schools, our nights in and our nights out. But, our front doors were the gateways to something beyond those four walls. The start line for fresh air, exercise, and thinking time.

The scale in which people in Wales took to stepping outside their front doors to gain the benefits was huge. Over 350,000 people took themselves outside of their four walls to run during the 2020 lockdown. And during the start of 2021 we asked you to be part of that movement.

Run it, walk it, or jog it – just be a part of it.

Whether you we’re a first-time jogger or a race finisher, you got involved. You jumped off your sofa, pushed yourself through your front door, and discovered the mental and physical benefits of running. Some ran for five minutes, some five miles. Whatever the weather, whatever your circumstances, whatever your pace, you got running.

And the best part? You weren’t pounding those pavements alone; there were hundreds of running clubs, groups, and challenges taking part right across Wales, offering support not just for this campaign, but all year round.

Let’s get Wales moving!

St. David’s Day Celebrations

We might not have been able to celebrate St. David’s Day in the way we normally would. But as a nation, we could still do something together, even if we we’re physically apart.

On St. David’s Day, we got Wales moving and discovering the Wales beyond our front doors. Businesses, schools and individuals joined us to do a #FromMyDoor run on 1st March and shared why Wales is such a fantastic place to live, work and study.
