Summary of Group:
The Getin2Running Group was originally created to encourage more people to start running but now also expands to help people continue to run. Our Beginners program is aimed at complete beginners including those lacking in confidence or not knowing where to start.
Our Improvers Group aims to help those wishing to continue running beyond 30 minutes to reach 5K. Our Intermediate Group aims to help those wishing to run 5K to 10K.
We ensure a friendly and welcoming environment with sessions which are progressive and inclusive.

Our Beginners Group is held every Spring over 10 consecutive weeks. We aim to get people running from 0 to 30 minutes by week 10. Note this is not held all year around.

OTHER ACTIVITIES:
We run every Monday ay 6.30pm. We have a Beginners Program every Spring (0-30 minutes) with opportunity to progress into the existing Monday Group via our 'Improvers Group'. Bi-monthly events (runs, walks etc) charity events, a Christmas Run and of course meeting for drinks and food occasionally too!

I started running in 2005 using my own version of 'Couch to 5k' and went on to increase my distance and run several 10ks and half marathons from there. I became a LiRF in 2018 and a Run Champion in 2020. I founded Getin2Running in Spring 2019 with our first Beginners Program which was aiming to 'get more people into Running' and now in 2022 we have 2 additional LiRF's and offer Beginner, Improver and Intermediate Running Groups.

In 2019, I joined as a member of Getin2Running. Having previously run 5k and 10k distances, I needed support to get back to it. Through the beginners group, I found my running legs again and have not looked back since. I qualified as a Run Leader in August 2021 and have enjoyed organising weekly and monthly runs with this wonderful group.

I never really had the running bug or enjoyed running but I always challenged myself to do 5ks and also a half marathon for charity. I'd lost my confidence to run alone and that's when I found Getin2Running. This group has given me not only my confidence back but has finally given me the running bug and a love for running. I've completed 5ks and 10ks since and have my vision set on a half marathon in the future. I completed my LiRF in May 2022 and I'm looking forward to helping others find their love of running too.
