5k Your Way: Newport

Summary of Group:

We are a volunteer lead group to encourage those living with and beyond cancer, families, friends, and those working in cancer services to walk, jog, run, cheer or volunteer at our local parkrun at the National Trust site at Tredegar House, Newport on the last Saturday of every month.

As 5k Your Way Move Against Cancer Groups provide opportunities to walk, jog, cheer or volunteer within a parkrun event, they operate within parkrun's guidelines and do not necessarily have qualified Run Leaders to lead the activity within the terms of their licence.

Chris Davies, 5k Your Way Ambassador - Newport parkrun
I have been running & walking for my own health & wellbeing for over 40 years, while also enjoying the social connections through being a Coach and Chair of Lliswerry Runners. Having seen so many health benefits in others over the years, I was keen to support those suffering with the effects of cancer having witnessed its effects first hand in family & friends. I have a lead role for parkrun in Wales and keen to use its inclusivity & welcome for this purpose.
