Summary of Group:
A Friendly, fun & knowledgeable running club for all abilities. We run 4 club sessions per week and travel to Saturday morning parkruns & enter many running events at weekends. Our club caters for a wide range of mixed ability throughout Llantwit Major and surrounding villages throughout the Vale of Glamorgan.

OTHER ACTIVITIES:
We host a beginners Couch to 5k annually. We also have social events throughout the year.
MEET THE TEAM:
Simon Jones - Chairman & Run Leader | |||||||
Simon has been an active member of the club since its inception and is Chairman of Llantwit Major Milers.
He brings a wealth of experience to the club running his first Half marathon at just 12 years old. He is a qualified Leader in Running Fitness, Personal Trainer & First Aider. His passion for running and the club is easy to see as soon as you meet him and having worked in the Leisure industry for 15 years he loves helping people reach their personal goals . |

Caroline Robson-Glen - Treasurer & Run Leader | |||||||
Caroline has also been a member of the club since its inception and is Treasurer of Llantwit Major Milers.
Initially new to running, joining the club inspired her to challenge herself and participate in many races including The London Marathon and Vale Ultra. Caroline is able to use her Military background to encourage and enthuse others as a Run Leader and First Aider.

Hayley Davies - Secretary & Run Leader | |||||||
Hayley has been a member of the club since 2017 and is the clubs Secretary.
She enjoys a 'chatty run' and is a qualified Leader in Running Fitness and First Aider. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2019, running became a key part in Hayley's recovery and she became one of 'Derek's Dazzlers' raising funds for Velindre Cancer Centre.

Lisa Lewis -Social Events Organiser & Run Leader | |||||||
Lisa has been with the club since Day One. Although fairly new to running at the start, Lisa realised it was something she really enjoyed.
An original member of the Committee, Lisa has progressed to become a qualified Leader in Running Fitness and First Aider. Lisa's running achievements include the London Marathon and Vale Ultra.

Ian David - Heath & Safety Officer & Run Leader | |||||||
Ian has been an active member of the club since late 2018. Ian uses his background in engineering to assist with Health & Safety matters for the club.
Ian has been a runner and fitness enthusiast since he was 16 which is more years than he'd like to admit. Although very competitive in the past he now wants to do as much as he can to help other runners enjoy the sport that has given him so much while still getting some miles in himself.

Brad Parkinson - Run Leader | |||||||
Brad joined Llantwit Major Milers to maintain fitness levels and missed being part of a team.
Brad brings a lot of enthusiasm and energy to the club taking tremendous satisfaction and pride from supporting new runners and watching their confidence grow from being part of the Milers family.

Angharad Hinam - Run Leader | |||||||
Angharad started her journey with Llantwit major Milers in 2017 attending club nights twice a week.
In 2018 Angharad entered her first Half Marathon at Cardiff and hasn't looked back since, entering many Ultra Marathons, with the Dragon 100 mile event next on her bucket list. Angharad is a qualified Leader in Running Fitness and First Aider with the club.

Louise Cleave - Run Leader | |||||||
Louise began running at the start of 2017 as a way to help with some health issues. Louise joined Llantwit Major Milers later that year and qualified as a Leader in running Fitness in 2019.
Louise has built up her running from a complete non-runner to finishing her first Half Marathon in Cardiff in 2019.

John Deakin - Run Leader | |||||||
John joined the club soon after inception and has kept fit throughout his adult life.
He served in the RAF for over 30 years, following which he worked in Sports Administration. In 2018 he completed a remarkable achievement of completing The London Marathon at the age of 73. A club Leader in Running Fitness and First Aider, he enjoys encouraging new runners to improve their performance |

Julie Burrows - Run Leader | |||||||
Julie started her journey in 2019 when she joined Llantwit Major Milers couch to 5k. Julie had never run before and a year later has gained her qualification as a Leader in Running Fitness.
Julie enjoys a 'chatty run' and is hoping to run the Cardiff Half Marathon in 2021. |

Paul Williams - Run Leader | |||||||
After being with Llantwit Major Milers for 2 years and seeing the excellent work being done by our dedicated core of Run Leaders, I felt it was time to give something back to the club that gives support to so many.
I qualified as a First Aider to help out and then qualified as a Leader in Running Fitness. I hope that I can help take the club forward, but to be honest, it's only for the yellow Run Leader top!
