MEET THE TEAM:

Lucie Bebbington-Lewis - Chair, Run Leader
Lucie took up running in 2017 and was quickly hooked, running her first 10k within weeks and a marathon 10 months later. In 2019, Lucie decided she needed some like-minded running friends and established the NFRN running group. The group continues to grow from strength to strength, with 16 leaders supporting runs and walks practically every day of the week! Aside from the group, Lucie's biggest running achievement is running the 4-4-48 challenge in 2021; definitely more of a mental challenge than a physical one!

Vicky Burns, Secretary, Run Leader, Social Committee member
Vicky started running regularly in early 2017 when her oldest friend (and now fellow NFRN member) persuaded her to enter the Cardiff 10K with her that autumn. She joined the newly-formed NFRN in January 2020 after seeing a Facebook post and passed the LiRF qualification to become a Run Leader in January 2024. Vicky's greatest running achievement to date is completing the Newport Half in 2024 - something she never thought she would do - as a result of some serious arm-twisting by her NFRN running buddies, to whom she is very grateful.

Layla Kirtley-Collison Run Leader, Social Committee member
Layla started her running experience by completing the C25K programme, which spurred her on to get her qualification to offer support to the club and runners. She qualified as a run leader with NFRN 5 years ago. She is delighted that we are growing all the time and that we are a very social club.

Jaq Underwood Tresurer , Run Leader, Social Committee member
Jaq started her running experience in 2017. Two years later our Newport Female Runners' Network running group was established. About a year later she qualified as a LIRF, which has given her the opportunity to lead our runs with other leaders and support our lady runners the best she can. She is also the treasurer of our club and a member of the social committee. She feels privileged to be a member of such a great sociable running club which has grown and grown over the years.
