Rhedwyr Maelog Runners

Summary of Group:

We are a group of mixed ability runners that meet in the Llanfaelog/Rhosneigr area of Ynys Mon once per week. We have varied sessions that usually last about an hour.

Rhedwyr Maelog is a bilingual, friendly running group that welcomes everyone to join us. Whether just visiting the area for a holiday, affiliated runners from other clubs or groups, or you want to join us on a regular basis, you will be made to feel at ease with us.

Our sessions are very sociable, there is an emphasis on training, increasing strength and fitness and it is anticipated that every runner will gain something from the activity. The sessions are not suitable for runners that can’t complete a 5km in under 40 minutes.

Day: Friday Time: 18:30 Level: Mixed ability
Location: Oyster Catcher Car Park, Rhosneigr but can vary in summer months Cost: Free
Activity: Training session Gender: Mixed
The session usually starts with a 10 minute warm up and then we have about 40 minutes of training followed by a 10 minute cool down. The training session varies from intervals, efforts along Strava segments, pyramids, fartleks and hill training. We also have some gentle paced runs that take us to different locations on the island. Every runner is encouraged to workout at their own pace, no one is made to feel uncomfortable or embarrassed if they miss out some of the efforts, equally there is plenty of friendly competition for runners that are looking for a PB.

Ruth Williams, Run Leader
I have been running for years, having completed several marathons, ultra marathons, triathlons as well as mountain and fell races.

I love running and I love meeting people and so combining the two and setting up this running group has been a very enjoyable experience for me.

I am a caring and considerate individual and will do my best to ensure you get the most out of our sessions.
