This week’s parkrun of the week is the Llanelli Coast parkrun, which takes place at King George V Playing Fields in Llanelli. The event was founded around 18 months ago and has seen over 2,000 runners participate since the event was first hosted. The parkrun takes place every Saturday morning at 9a.m and is organised by a friendly group of volunteers and parkrun enthusiasts who help set-up and clear-up before and after the event. Every week after the event, many participants migrate to the Pavilion Café at King George V Playing Fields for a post-run coffee. Last Saturday saw many participants at the Llanelli Coast parkrun wear red in support of Team Wales at the Commonwealth Games.

In addition, this Saturday the Mental Health Project group “We Can Run” Llanelli will be participating in the Llanelli Coast parkrun with many of it’s members making their parkrun debuts. The group will be wearing special Run Tech T-shirts to identify themselves and increase their awareness around the course.
