Happy Pace Running Club by BEST Coaching

Summary of Group:

Happy Pace is for runners who are new to running, those who are returning from an injury and for anyone who wants to enjoy group runs, build friendships, and find their own running pace.

Happy Pace is about running in a way that feels achievable, supportive and genuinely enjoyable. No pressure, no judgement and no expectation to be fast - just steady progress and friendly encouragement. Happy Pace is for runners who feel nervous about starting, worry about being too slow or might have lost confidence. Happy Pace will concentrate on the fundamentals of running to ensure their runners are comfortable with speed work sessions.
Weekly sessions will be encouraged as a group and there will be the opportunity for runners to run socially together on other days.

Meet the Team

Francesca Proietti Best

When I started running 10 years ago I hated it! I used to moan to my friend every minute of the run. I wasn’t good, I couldn’t breathe and in general I hated the way I felt during the time I was running.

6 months later a friend recommended joining a running club so I reluctantly “give it a go”. It was the best decision I ever made for my fitness! I found out that I wasn’t actually that bad and I with the help of the coaches I started to get good!

My dad passed away a few months later so I decided to bite the bullet and signed up for a 10k race for life in support of cancer research. I actually surprised myself and felt amazing after the race!! I started running three times a week, started getting faster, losing weight and toning up! I felt amazing. Then one night I fell, nothing to do with running, and I hurt my shin badly and couldn’t run for at least 8 months and when I did start back running it still hurt!

I had a choice to make…… give up completely or assist the club coach with beginner runners. From that first day of coaching I loved it!! I knew that’s what I was good at and that’s what I needed to do. I stopped focusing on myself and got the last eight years I have dedicated my time supporting and motivating others to achieve their goals and show them that they can do it! I love coaching new or beginner runners and helping them move onto a faster pace or  just encouraging runners so they know they are good, they show up and they do it!! I hate running on my own, I struggle mentally to motivate myself but I’m really good at showing up for others and empowering them and motivating them so that they know they can run!!
