Summary of Group:
The Resilient Runners Aberdare is a social running group with the aim of promoting the sport of running for those individuals who require a more flexible, informal and friendly approach.
We provide safe and enjoyable running opportunities regardless of fitness level. The group is led by qualified Run Leaders, trained and insured by Welsh Athletics.
We provided guided running on Tuesday and Thursday and usually a longer run on Sunday. Where possible, we also promote and take part in parkrun which occurs every Saturday at 0900hrs.

For those members who are just getting into running, the addition of doing parkrun can provide a race day feel but the fun of a fun run. Walk, Run and Walk or run the whole distance. Time is immaterial. Running parkrun in the early stages of running will help to build stamina and quieten those voices in your head that keep saying Nooooo! A run Leader or one of the more experienced group runners can and will provide support for those new to this event.

A relaxed long(er) run to help build stamina for those longer distances. Run at conversational pace so that it's completed with ease. A number of routes are provided from 5k right through to half Marathon distance.

OTHER ACTIVITIES:
We try to promote other forms of fitness related activities such as cycling and swimming since some of our members want to also try Duathalons and Triathalons. Many members also attend fitness classes in the local Sobells Sports Centre and are happy to help with advice and activities. We regularly enter races and treat them as a fun run and social day out.
