MEET THE TEAM

Janine Price - Joint founder and Run Leader
Janine is a living demonstration of the power of walking and the mental health benefits of spending time outdoors. Having battled with a chronic skin condition and autoimmune disease for over 18 years that prevented her from undertaking any form of exercise she started to explore holistic approaches taking charge of her recovery. As her symptoms gradually abated she was able to start to exercise and incorporate walks in the Brecon Beacons into her daily life. Her first hand experience of the healing benefits of walking, running and being outside led her to starting an after school walking club for mums and their children, as well as offering support helping build confidence in those who were embarking on a return to fitness or starting to exercise for the first time. Today Janine is testament to what is possible and her activities outside her passionate support of the Brecon Beacons team include being a busy mum to two almost grown children, paddle boarding and wellness coaching. Most recently Janine and co-founder Chris Thomas have launched Wellsynergy 2024; a family wellbeing festival being held in September this year.

Chris Thomas - Joint founder and Run Leader
Over the past 20 years Chris has enjoyed the rugged beauty of the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia. Motivated by his desire to share the breathtaking beauty of the area today he is the owner of ROC Outdoor Adventure which creates memorable, personalised walking and climbing experiences for all ages and abilities. In addition to his extensive experience and knowledge of the area, and his ability to guide people to the most spectacular views, he is a Mountain Training Association qualified Mountain Leader and is also trained in Mountain Rescue. He has summited some of the world’s highest peaks most recently completing the successful ascent of the Himalayas in Nepal. He is also co-founder of family wellbeing festival Wellsynergy being held in September this year. A family man Chris is also dad to two teenage children who, not surprisingly were climbing from a young age.
