Welsh Athletics is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with market leading bone conducting headphone provider AfterShokz.
Bone conducting headphones are the only earphones that are fully approved for use in all road races under UK Athletics rules of competition.
The agreement sees all of Welsh Athletics affiliated members benefiting from exclusive discounts on the entire AfterShokz range. The agreement also provides support for the Run Wales social running programme, promoting a safe way of running for all.
Matt Newman, CEO of Welsh Athletics said “We are delighted to begin this partnership with AfterShokz.
“We continue to see huge growth in the running sector, with more running clubs than ever before affiliating with the Governing Body. We have also seen more running leaders trained than ever before, with close to 300 trained in the last 12 months.
“It is essential that athletes can enjoy a safe experience, whether they are running alone, in a group or taking part in one of the 300 licenced events in Wales each year. The rules of competition are clear, only bone conducting headwear can be used – it is a huge boost therefore, to be partnering with the market leader for this technology.”
Kim Fabiano, chief marketing officer at AfterShokz commented “Our goal is to promote comfortable and safe running to all athletes – whether they are professional or amateur. We are extremely excited to partner with Welsh athletics and look forward to working with them throughout 2017.”
