The Wales Air Ambulance charity is based in, and dedicated to, Wales. They rely entirely on donations to keep their helicopters flying, currently in operation 8am – 8pm costing £6.5 million a year. They can be there for anyone in Wales within 20 minutes, providing critical care interventions on scene, by taking the emergency department to the patient.
The charity has a vision to provide a 24-hour service sometime in 2020, seeing their fundraising target exceed £8 million annually. With the help and support of the people and businesses in Wales, we hope to achieve this.
“We at Wales Air Ambulance Charity have launched our very first Virtual Run to help raise funds for the charity. Registration is now open for the event which takes place in March. There are 3 distances to choose from – 25, 50 or 100 miles and whether it takes you a week or a month, you have the whole month to clock up your chosen distance.”
