Along with the Home Countries, we are very pleased to announce a new virtual racing partnership with OpenTrack. Through the partnership all Welsh Athletics affiliated clubs and RunWales groups and their runners are now able to use the OpenTrack platform, free of charge, to create virtual running competitions and challenges.
The platform offers:
- · Instantaneous scoring across a range of formats enabling inter-club and league competition
- · Ability to specify a ‘racing window’
- · Submit results easily with one copy/paste from Garmin or Strava
- · Charitable donation options on any race
Over the coming weeks we will be working with OpenTrack on a number of new developments including, support tools, automatic Strava API integration and use for virtual track & field competitions.
- Detailed information on using OpenTrack and how to set up a competition is available directly via the platform: https://opentrack.run/
If you have any queries about setting up a virtual competition/challenge in Wales, please get in touch with Rhiannon Linington-Payne (Rhiannon@welshathletics.org)
To celebrate the launch of the partnership, we would like to encourage all clubs and RunWales groups to support the 2.6 Challenge which aims to raise £67 million for UK charities which would have been raised for by the Virgin London Marathon. You can fundraise for any charity.
We would like all clubs and RunWales groups to create a 26-minute virtual competition starting on 26th April on OpenTrack. How far can your club run?
