This week’s parkrun of the week is the Gnoll parkrun which takes place at 9a.m every Saturday morning at the Gnoll Estate Country Park, Neath. The Gnoll parkrun is approaching its third anniversary, having already hosted 142 parkruns, and relies on a committed and dedicated group of volunteers to help organise the event every Saturday morning.

This will be highlighted on the weekend as the Gnoll parkrun celebrates Laura Chapple’s 100th parkrun event as a volunteer on Saturday morning. To celebrate this landmark, Sarah will take the reigns as Run Director especially for this weekend’s parkrun. Additionally, parkrunners are encouraged to wear Crazy Socks to celebrate Sarah’s 100th parkrun. So whether you want to walk, jog, run or are spectating or volunteering at the Gnoll parkrun this weekend – be sure to bring out the most colourful and funniest pair of socks you own!

Last weekend, the Gnoll parkrun celebrated #teamparkrun by welcoming welsh Commonwealth boxers Sammy Lee and Mickey McDonagh as tail walkers for the event. The boxers were invited along to emphasise the all-inclusive nature of a parkrun event and to send a message that nobody comes last at the Gnoll parkrun!

The Gnoll parkrun takes place in the grounds of the Gnoll Estate Country Park and is run on tarmac, gravel tracks and compact earth. Every week, parkrunners, volunteers and spectators meet up for a post-run coffee at the Visitor Centre inside the park.
