  • Raise Awareness and Inspire Action: The Running Out of Time Relay is more than just a physical challenge; it’s a powerful movement to highlight the urgency of climate action. By participating, Run Wales members can help amplify this vital message.
  • Celebrate Environmental Initiatives: The relay partners with a wide range of climate campaigns, projects, and events, visiting 50 schools and numerous community projects. It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase and support local and national environmental efforts.
  • Unique and Eye-Catching Activities: The relay features a variety of creative ways to move the baton, including running, walking, cycling, swimming, paddling, triathloning, sailing, skiing, paragliding, and wakeboarding. Participants will have the chance to engage in these exciting activities while promoting a crucial cause.

A Personal Story: Simon’s Commitment to Change

Simon, a member of the Run Wales virtual running club, Clwb Run Wales, has pledged to carry the baton on Stage 138 from St. Fagans National Museum of History to The Senedd. This stage of just under 11kms is scheduled to take place between 2pm and 3:15pm on Wednesday 26th June, and it would be amazing to see Simon joined by social runners from across the region, all raising awareness about Climate Change.

Simon shared his motivation for joining the relay:

“I joined the Green Runners earlier this year because I believe we should all do what we can to reduce our impact on the planet. My decision was triggered after completing a half marathon event last year, where I saw thousands of half-used and discarded plastic water bottles. I now carry my own water and folding cup for races. The hardest thing is turning down that bottle of cold water at the end of a race!”

Get Involved!

We encourage all members of the Run Wales community to join this incredible journey. Whether you participate in a stage, support the runners, make a Planet Pledge, or simply help spread the word, your involvement can make a significant difference. Let’s come together to run, walk, cycle, and paddle for our planet’s future.

The bigger reason for me taking part in the Running Out of Time Relay is to raise awareness of climate change, which is already impacting all aspects of our lives. I have children and grandchildren, and I want them to recognize behaviours that damage the planet and to know that it’s our job to make changes to the way we live.”
