GUIDANCE FOR A RETURN TO GROUP RUNNING ON MONDAY 17th MAY 2021

With less than a week to go, it is an exciting time for groups and clubs across Wales.

The Welsh Government announcement on Friday 14th May means that social running groups and run leaders across Wales can now plan for a return to larger group training from Monday 17th May 2021.

Since Saturday 13th March 2021 it has been permissible for 6 people from 2 households to exercise together (Note: under 18s are not included in this number) therefore the return to small group running and activity has restarted (with no more than 2 households and no more than 6 adults present at any one time).

From Monday 17th May 2021 organised outdoor activities for up to 50 people can again take place. The guidance below is to help Clubs & Groups to plan for a return to group running on or after this date.

All groups and leaders should continue to follow the Run Wales / Welsh Athletics advice as laid out in the ‘Return to Group Running’ guidance document which was updated on 17th May 2021. Please take time to read the guidance and plan carefully how you will implement it to ensure the safety return to activity for the sport and all involved.

In addition, the usual support networks are in place for Run Leaders across Wales including; the Run Wales LiRF Network and advice form our Run Leader Champions.
