This year’s Mental Health Week focuses on relationships.
The Mental Health Foundation believe that we need a greater focus on the quality of our relationships and want to highlight to use just how important relationships are to our health and wellbeing, stating that they are as vital as better-established lifestyle factors such as eating healthily and getting more active. We cannot flourish as individuals and communities without them.
The Mental Health Foundation are calling on us all to make a Relationship Resolution, asking us to: assess how much time we actively commit to building and maintaining good relationships, and to ask whether we can invest more in being present with and listening to friends, family and colleagues.
As mentioned above – getting more active is widely known to improve our health and wellbeing and what simpler way to do that than to walk, jog or run.
The Run Wales community is the perfect place for you to start building relationships within the running community in Wales, hitting your mental health head on! It’s really easy to get involved, simply pick the right starting point for you;
– Find a Running group in your area and run with like-minded people in a safe, friendly and fun environment.
– Run in the Workplace – we don’t suggest running about the office, but how about getting some colleagues together for a lunch time / after work run?
– Sign up to your local parkrun and run for free on a Saturday morning.
– Or simply start small and Join the Run Wales community by filling in a short form. You will receive a free newsletter to keep you up to date with all things Run Wales which will make you want to get out there.
You can also join in the conversation on social media;
Twitter, Facebook & Instagram.
