Run Wales is taking part in Volunteers Week (June 1 – 7) to thank and celebrate our brilliant volunteers and the positive impact they make to our community.
This year, recognition of our nation’s volunteers is more important than ever. It is hoped that all individuals, across all sectors of Wales will unite to share messages to thank volunteers and celebrate the power of volunteering to bring communities together and to be there when needed.
We are therefore asking you, our running community, to nominate volunteers who deserve thanks. So if you know of someone that needs to be sung about; whose efforts, big or small, you could not do without please let us know via this nomination form. Your thank you doesn’t need to be long. Just a few sentences would be a huge boost for our volunteers.
[contact-form-7 404 "Not Found"]This year the Volunteers Week campaign will predominantly take place online and therefore we hope to fill our social media channels and news feed with your thanks and nominees for thanks. In order to do this ideally we need you to share them with us in advance. If possible, we’d love for you to share your thanks via your own social media channels, such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram between June 1st and 7th too. We are using the hashtag #VolunteersWeek.
We also encourage our community to join the #ClapforVolunteers (alongside the #ClapforCarers) event at 8pm on Thursday 4 June as a nationwide expression of thanks for volunteers.
We completely appreciate you are very busy. But volunteers are vital for our work, so we hope you are able to help us with this worthy campaign.
