The introduction of local lockdown restrictions to Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough [‘the borough’] by the Welsh Government, means the following comes into effect from 18:00 on Thursday 17th September 2020:
- No athletes, leaders, officials or staff residing in the borough to attend running activities outside the borough e.g. competitions, training, face to face education courses
- Running groups are advised to continue adhering to the Guidance for a return to Group Running. Local lockdown measures mean that running groups should exclude any members living outside of the borough from attending training sessions inside the borough
- No athletes or leaders residing outside the borough to attend facilities (including, but not limited to, the Ron Jones Stadium, Aberdare and the King George V Track, Tonypandy) or training sessions in the borough
In line with the Welsh Athletics Traffic Light approach, the following boroughs are currently in the Red & Amber categories:
- Red – Caerphilly, Rhondda Cynon Taff
- Amber – Newport, Merthyr Tydfill
