Resilient Runners is a series of blogs about the brilliant ideas that our running community have been coming up with to keep each other going in these unprecedented times . . .
Rhyl Runners and Porth Eirias Runners
In North Wales a couple of groups are drawing on some creative ways to keep group members engaged and active.
Rhyl Runners have 2 challenges;
Leader Katie has these fantastic medals up for grabs on completion of a pledge to keep active; current entries are to do the alphabet challenge (a different exercise for each letter of your name), to be able to do the plank for 2 minutes by the end of April, and 100 miles on a bike during the month (participant is recovering from injury)!
The second challenge is Easter themed; participants have to complete an Easter picture on their run and share it via Strava.
Easter Egg shapes are not allowed!
Porth Eirias Runners have been doing lots of different activities including;
Runners Bingo, ‘meeting’ for a ‘Not a club run’ at their usual time as well as other runs during the week. Plus they have also moved their Pilates and Strength and Conditioning classes online to keep the excellent activity going!
Over in Conwy the Conwy Zero to 5km group is taking a break because Run Leader Jen has just brought a new little life into the world (8th April), congratulations Jen!
Well done everyone, don’t forget to take a look at the great resources and stories on our and Welsh Athletics‘ website.
Another Resilient Runners blog post will be coming your way Tuesday.
