The Welsh Athletics / Run Wales Awards night is back in it’s usual Autumn place, and we have two fantastic new awards to celebrate our registered Run Wales groups and the wonderful volunteers that are pivotal in giving individuals in their area the opportunity to discover the joys of social running.
Run Wales Group Volunteer of the Year
Our first award recognises the individuals who play a vital role in your group, we know there are volunteers that organise the runs, are responsible for social media, help with fundraising or rally the members to take part in events.
Whoever that person is, we want to say thank you!

Clwb Run Wales Partner Group of the Year
Since April 2022 we have been working with a number of groups to become Clwb Run Wales Partners. Clwb Run Wales Partners are our ‘gold standard’ groups, and as such, they should lead by example and be a role model for other Run Wales groups and new groups under development.
We want to recognise the contribution these groups make to social running and our Run Wales network, the nomination process therefore requires members of these groups to tell us what makes their group special.
Examples of this can be supporting new runners, developing Run Leaders, engagement in parkrun and other events, fundraising, or anything else the group has been instrumental in achieving.

Nominations close on 7th October, after which the awards panel will meet to short-list 3 candidates. The winner will be announced at the Awards event in Cardiff on 12th November.
