Welsh Athletics has announced that the new look Blended Learning Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) booking system is now open!
The Leadership in Running Fitness (Online and Practical) course is designed to prepare you to provide a safe and enjoyable running experience, for adults and young people of any ability, aged of 12 and above.
The LiRF course provides prospective run leaders with an introduction to running and fitness. It focuses on the introduction of fundamental movement skills that underpin running activities.
The course consists of a series of Online Learning Modules and a Practical session (Half Day).
The Practical session will look to apply the theoretical knowledge covered in the online modules and provides an opportunity to practice leading mixed ability groups effectively. It will explore the How-2 lead skills, components of a session and the running technical template. There is no assessment element.
Some of these pilots will be trailing the delivery of safeguarding content within the practical half day of the course. If you book onto one of these courses you will not have to pay to complete the additional UKA safeguarding module in order to become licensed. Going through the DBS process will still be a prerequisite.
